Helinet's research portfolio focuses on autonomous robotic systems for Mediterranean agriculture. Our active project is the Olive Picker — a bench-top R&D platform — with a wider pipeline planned around the same reusable hardware-and-software stack.
Coming next
The same hardware-and-software stack supports a planned roadmap of agricultural applications. Each shares the underlying perception, motion, control, edge AI and safety layers; what changes is the end-effector and the task-specific model.
- Tree-fruit harvesting — cherries, apples, peaches, apricots, pistachios
- Soft-fruit harvesting — tomatoes, strawberries, peppers
- Autonomous weeding — between-row and in-row
- Precision spraying — variable-rate, target-specific
- Pruning, fertilisation and field scouting — longer-term applications building on the same perception and control foundation
How we work
Each project follows the same discipline: design decisions documented as we make them, deliberate use of off-the-shelf hardware where it exists, and a single shared platform layer that reduces marginal engineering cost as new applications are added. We treat deployment — taking a system from bench to reliable field operation — as a separate discipline from the design that precedes it.
